This is How The Future Will Remember Us
Based on the concept of Bit Rot: The tendency for digital information to degrade or become unusable over time. With so much critical data of our time stored electronically— both personally and professionally, the likelihood that in the future much about our lives today will be lost. Degraded data turns to noise— pixels in random order. This series of images explores partially degraded digital images and some totally degraded in observance of this effect. We were told physical records were a waste of space, and more and more of our lives exist only on our phones or hard drives. Fewer and fewer people write, or keep written records. Personal photos are almost entirely online or in hard drives.
